Our App Development Process

Our process begins with Pre-Development.
We work with you to understand your vision and goals for the app. Then we think about a solution and work collaboratively with you to fine tune it. During Pre-Dev, we ask a lot of questions. For instance;

• Who is the audience for this app and how will they use it?
• Are we building from scratch or using technology that’s already been developed?
• What’s the revenue model?
• Where does the data come from?
• Can it take better advantage of the accelerometer? GPS positioning? Photo and video? Social networking?

The process continues with Storyboarding.
The storyboard is a roadmap for our designers and programmers. It streamlines the process and prevents us from wasting (your) time and (your) money. And it ensures that everyone is in total agreement of how the finished app(s) should function.

Next up: Development.
The storyboard comes to life. Our interface designers work out the graphics for the various screens while our programmers build the back end. If your app requires a database, the information is collected and organized. When it’s ready, your app is handed to our Beta Testing team. We’ll test the app in lots of situations on multiple devices to make sure it runs seamlessly. When it does, we’ll give you a version of the app that can be installed on up to ten phones for testing and approval.

Apple’s part in the process.
Apple takes the quality of their product seriously and actively weeds out poorly developed apps or those with objectionable content. Apple retains 30% of any revenues generated by your app via downloads, subscription fees or in app purchases. On the flip side, if your app is free, there’s no charge from Apple for distributing it via their store.

What are the next steps?
Every app is different. To determine exactly what it will take to build your app, we go through the process of Pre-Development. At the end of Pre-Dev, we present you with;

• a storyboard,
• a set of functional specifications,
• an accurate timeline,
• and a budget.

The cost for Pre-Development is based upon the projected final cost for the app.
