Holloway House

About Holloway House

Holloway House is a family-owned business headquartered in Fortville, Indiana in the USA. Robert Eck began Holloway House in 1962 with the charter of formulating quick, easy-to-use and superior quality solutions for hard surface floor care and wood care. Their world-class, in-house floor care chemists have been formulating superior floor care compounds since the company’s inception. Holloway House is dedicated to the goal of providing the world consumer with products that enhance their ability to care for their hardwood floors, fine wood accouterments and furniture and other hard surface flooring such as marble, stone, vinyl and tile. Their products are available through retail, telemarketing and direct-to-consumer sales (including mail orders and e-commerce).

The Challenge

The previous site of Holloway House had a lack of management controls for products and content. Content was managed by hand directly in the code or in a database - both requiring in-depth knowledge of HTML and databases.

In addition to a lack of control on the web site, the e-commerce promoted manual business practices when processing orders. Credit cards were authorized on a manual batch process that occurred weekly - delaying orders. Holloway House requested a solution that would provide real-time authorization for credit cards. When shipping products, UPS rates were not calculating accurately and as a result reduced the profit margin for each e-commerce order. Calculating more accurate shipping rates was key to Holloway House.

Besides the e-commerce functionality, Holloway House requested that the new site make a strong visual statement about their products.

The Solution

GlobalMagic was able to rapidly provide a modern and profit-promoting e-commerce solution for Holloway House. Products, orders and customers are now managed through a easy-to-use and feature rich web application. No more crawling through the database to add products or categories.

Content pages are now dynamic with GlobalMagic’s CMS360 systems integrated with the e-commerce solution. Administrative users can create, edit, review and publish certain pages on the new site. With every save, a historical version is created and can be rolled back in just two clicks.

Integration with other third-party web services was critical. Credit cards are now automatically authenticated in real-time against a major third-party payment gateway. Shipping rates are accurately calculated with UPS as the customer completes his order. In addition to shipping rates, UPS tracking numbers are automatically ingested from the shipping station by the e-commerce system to charge credit cards as well as sending customers e-mail notifications.

GlobalMagic's original design of the site was conceived in order to highlight the Holloway House products and their applications. High-resolution product images captivate the eyes.
